
Zeke's lost in space, help him get home! An Action-Physics puzzle game, you must use gravity orbs to push and pull zeke around 6 unique galaxies, collecting bones and shooting bad guys. A completely new game mechanic introduces the iPad to a new kind adventure that is simple, but extremely deep by offering emergent solutions to the 60+ levels. Zeke in Orbit is my primary focus this year, learning about mobile game design along with audio implementation for new media has been something on my list for a long time. I am the sole developer of the game which allows me complete freedom to marry my love of game design with sound creation. The goal is to create an emergent system which allows players to experience the game in new ways everytime, while also allowing the sountrack to generatively develop according to user input and pre-defined rules. The game play has this emergent quality in it, but the audio engine I was using would not be able to pull off what I envisioned for the soundtrack. I released Zeke in Orbit this summer and my final year of grad school will see the release of the sequel, where I will re-design the game from scratch with a storyline, new modes, and the generative audio system.
